If you have heard of this book, it is also very possible you have heard of The Climb. A response to Into Thin Air, by another survivor Anatoli Boukreev, who was a guide on a different commercial expedition team. The issue of Into Thin Air I read has Jon’s response to The Climb. I got bored and called it a day before finishing the postscript.
If you have ever wondered how people climb Everest, this is the book you should buy. Read it. The language is a little tougher than Lance Armstrong’s It’s not about the bike.

Benji! Funny that you should blog about Anatoli Boukreev’s book. I just got a copy a few days back. Love Jon’s book too. I thought Jon was more of a storyteller but was a bit too quick to pronounce judgement. Together, the books are unforgettable.
